This inner-city terrace began as a compact three-bedroom, one-bathroom home with a single car space. Our transformation introduced a striking second-storey side extension, an excavated garage beneath the home, and a newly formed courtyard terrace – a rare luxury in Paddington.

The first floor was reimagined around a new living room that opens directly onto the courtyard, creating a private indoor–outdoor connection filled with natural light. The home was further upgraded with a new kitchen, two additional bathrooms, and a beautifully crafted open-flight staircase in spotted gum, detailed with LED-lit hardwood handrails as a central feature.

The challenges of this build were substantial. Excavating into sand for the garage demanded meticulous planning and underpinning of the existing terrace to ensure structural integrity at every stage. The result is a seamless extension that blends heritage character with modern functionality, delivering a light-filled, multi-level home tailored for contemporary family living.
